Junior Olympics

We had a fantastic time at Junior Olympics this year. The children participated in many different events. It was a beautiful day and the children had a great day together. Our class won the trophy for the relay! We were very pleased.

Butterflies

We grew Painted Lady Butterflies. We watched them go through each phase of metamorphosis. We learned that their tongue is like a straw. They drink sweet nectar from flowers. It was hard letting them go free! We sang our butterfly song before we let them go.

Walk-a-thon

We walked around our school for thirty minutes to raise money for our school. It was wonderful exercise and we had a great time being together. After our walk, PTO treated us to icecream sandwiches!

Children's Museum

We had so much fun at the Children's museum. We were able to visit many different areas of the museum. The Science Works area was our all time favorite. We played in the rocks, water, mulch, and so much more. We like getting messy. It was fun wearing our new hornet t-shirts.

Space Camp

We had a wonderful time at Space Camp! We rotated through 5 stations that were set up to help us learn various space concepts.

Captain Cosmic

We took a field trip to outer space this week!!! We didn't even have to leave the building. We went to the distance learning lab and learned about the planets and the Solar System.

Easter bunnies

We had fun celebrating Easter!

St.Patrick's Day

The children were surprised when they came to school on St. Patrick's day. The leprechaun had visited our room. He decorated our room with shamrocks and left his footprints on the wall. We followed them across the wall. We think he escaped out the window! We found the chairs that he knocked over too. He threw green crayons and green markers on the floor. He left us a note saying that we would never catch him. At the end of the day, we discovered that he left us a pot of gold Reese Cups! Yummy!

Dr. Seuss Week!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Dr. Seuss week. We made Cat In The Hat hats, played a Dr. Seuss graphing game, played Green Eggs and Ham tic-tac-toe, and read many Dr. Seuss books.

Howard School rose over $1,000 dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. Our class collected enough money to throw 3 pies in the face!

Captain Vincent received three pies in the face!

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's Day! The day before our Valentine party, we had centers all themed around the special day. We made cards for our family by tracing our hands and cutting out hearts. We also played a contraction game matching the broken heart pieces. We used conversation hearts as bingo markers to review our vocabulary words.

Friday was the day of our Valentine party. Our room mothers planned a fun day. We played Bingo, opened our cards, and ate a lot of yummy food!
